coeur d'laine

in july i was trying to catch a hop back to england after spending time in utah. the closest, most reliable location is spokane so my mama and i drove up a few days before the flight to have some quality time before we wouldn't see each other for a while.
we spent the weekend in coeur d'aline, and let me tell you- i had no idea that idaho could be so pretty! i mean, woah.

i have a fabulous friend who has built (from the ground up) a zip line property. nita and i were sooooo lucky and were able to do a morning zip with paul. just five of us. it was the best experience i have EVER had zipping through trees. the sights were gorgeous and our guides were hilarious. it was the best way to end my time in the states.
if you ever go to coeur d'laine, which i suggest you do, you have to look up timberline and go on an adventure. you will not be disappointed.

 byyyyye nita!

while we were away.

it has been a lonnnng time since i have posted... and there is loads to catch up on! part of the reason for lack of post is jared and i spent six months apart due to j getting deployed. but from what i got to see, he was on vaycay.
i was lucky enough to get to go see him at this sunny undisclosed location for a week. we decided i would wait to visit until our anniversary which was also two days after mr erickson promoted up to first LT! i flew in just a few hours before his promotion ceremony.

 the beef boys...

erickson was promoted by his commander, colonel losee
he asked his friends christian and nick to pin him on with me.

what you don't see in this photo is the huge dirt mound we are standing on... it was quite the sight- but perfect for the engineer

 sorry about the wardrobe malfunction!

the rest of the evening we had an amazing cookout at the stockyard with iguanas.
i was so thrilled i was able to be there for j's first promotion. he works so incredibly hard and i could not be more proud of this husband of mine.

we spent the week doing none of your damn business.
juuuuust kidding. but kind of.
we went boating, snorkeling, kayaking, sunning with lots of naps in between. i also kicked mr erickson's booty at frisbee golf.

hi mr erickson!

there were some seriously beautiful trees and flowers, which was good since there wasn't much else.
